The Surface Force Center for Maritime Advanced Warfare Studies (MAWS) exists for the purpose of promoting and advancing the naval service through recognition of the key role surface naval forces (USN/USMC/USCG) play in the safety and security of the United States. Opinions stated by MAWS are not connected with or endorsed by the Department of the Navy or Department of Homeland Security.
